Grangemouth Respite Service

ARK Grange is a 10 bedroom care home with 9 permanent tenants and a respite room.

There is a shared kitchen, living room, laundry facility, recreation room, easy access shower room and the respite room has a wash hand basin.

ARK Grange is accessible for wheelchairs but unfortunately there are no hoisting facilities within the respite room. If a hoist was required, an assessment would be carried out.

ARK Grange provides 24/7 support with staff on sleepover each night. A waking night could be provided if requested. Respite support would include support with all daily living skills and all meals. Additional support can be requested for social support and personal care.

Respite support would be provided to a level that the service user required to ensure that they are able to maintain their independence and continue to develop their skills, whilst ensuring a positive outcome from their respite period. To ensure this, a person-centred assessment would be done to meet outcomes for individuals.

Whilst in respite care, the service user will be supported within ARK’s value base and ARK’s Policies and Procedures will be adhered to.

All staff will have received training in the following:

  • Values
  • Adult Support & Protection
  • Administering Medication
  • Moving & Handling
  • First Aid
  • Fire Safety
  • Food Hygiene
  • Infection Control

ARK Grange is registered as a care home by Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland and as such is inspected and graded by the Care Inspectorate.

ARK Grange is subject to regulations for food hygiene and is inspected by Food Standards Agency Scotland and ARK adheres to Cooksafe guidelines.
