Salary:                 £27,019.00 - £30,313.00                 


This position will report to the Senior Maintenance Officer and work alongside two other Maintenance Officers who are involved in ensuring that all of ARK’s properties are maintained to its high standards. You will become an important part of this team with key responsibilities in the delivery of an efficient and effective reactive repairs service to tenants to ensure that the property stock is maintained to a high standard, dealing with issues as they arise or as part of a complaints process. This will mean liaising with both contractors and tenants on a regular basis.

You will be heavily involved with planned major upgrades of our properties, the tendering process, and the quality control inspections that follow, as well as ensuring that all relevant regulations and codes of practice have been met.

You shall be responsible for pre & post inspections of voids in accordance with lettable standards whilst ensuring that the work schedules are prepared and work appropriately managed within timescales.

You will be responsible for issuing work orders and the analysis and reconciliation of expenditures to ensure value for money. The work that you undertake will support the work delegated by the S.M.O.

You will have a responsibility to assist the S.M.O. on property management governance, planning, decision-making, monitoring and forecasting, as well as contributing to the processes for tendering, capital investment and policy setting.

Applicants should have a sound construction related background, qualified to a minimum of HNC / HND in a building / construction related discipline, relevant technical qualification standard with experience of working in social housing preferable but not essential.


This position covers ARKS’s Northern Area and is primarily based within our Forres Office; however, responsibilities will include Moray, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Wester Isle, and others as required. As such a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
