Getting active for a good cause in Forres

Staff and Supported People from our service in Forres took on a sponsored walk and raised an amazing £371 for Breast Cancer UK.

Below, you will read about the experience from some people who are supported in Forres, as well as from our Operations Manager for Moray, and our wonderful Speak Out Worker, Ellie, who organised the walk.

Ellie, Speak Out Worker: “It’s been a real honour for me to organise this event for a cause that’s incredibly close to all of our hearts. I’m unbelievably proud of everyone we support and everything we’ve achieved together.

A massive £371 has been raised for Breast Cancer UK and none of this would have been possible without the generosity of those who donated, the amazing people who helped out and everyone who shared and supported the event in any way.

I feel incredibly lucky to have shared this experience with the amazing team at Ark. Thank you all – your kindness, effort and support truly made a difference. It’s a privilege to be part of the team”

Geoffrey, supported by Ark: “it’s a very good charity to raise money for. I really enjoyed doing the walk and would love to do it again soon.”

Rowena, supported by Ark: “I really enjoyed the walk, the weather was good. I took Willow the dog and Greig helped me walk her. I enjoyed socialising with everyone – it was a fun day”

Aimee, Operations Manager: “As manager, I don’t often get as much time as I’d like to spend with our staff and the people we support. That’s why this opportunity was so meaningful and touching for me. I felt incredibly proud of everyone and all that they have achieved – especially given how close the chosen charity is to my heart. It was a real privilege to be part of it. I had such a great time seeing everyone and truly appreciate the chance to spend time together.”
