Ark Colleagues Reflect on Their Impact at Staff Conference 2026

More than 100 colleagues from across Scotland came together for Ark's Staff Conference 2026, and one message stood out above all others:

Because of Ark... lives are changed every day.

During the conference, colleagues watched powerful stories from supported people, tenants and staff before being challenged to complete the sentence: "Because of Ark..."

The responses painted a powerful picture of our collective impact.

Because of Ark...

• People live independently.
• People feel safe, valued and respected.
• People have choice and control over their lives.
• People build friendships, relationships and community connections.
• People have safe, secure and affordable homes.
• People overcome barriers and achieve personal goals.
• Families have peace of mind knowing their loved ones are supported.

The exercise also reminded us of the impact Ark has on colleagues.

Because of Ark...

• We make a genuine difference every day.
• We build meaningful relationships.
• We learn, develop and grow.
• We have careers we are proud of.
• We have a sense of purpose.

When asked how the impact videos made them feel, the words that came up again and again were proud, inspired, grateful and appreciated.

The conference generated lots of positive feedback, but perhaps the most important outcome was the reminder of why we do what we do. Every role across Ark contributes to helping people live good lives, feel connected, achieve their goals and thrive in their communities.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, shared their experiences and contributed to the discussions. Together, we're continuing to build a stronger One Ark and create positive outcomes for people across Scotland.
